CINEMA CITY FILM QUIZ The quiz is structured to cater for all types of film fans, spanning all genres and aspects of the filmmaking process. The night is divided into five parts; the first section is entitled Pre-Production, comprising of simple, easy questions that any cinemagoer should be able to quickly answer. The second round, Filming, is a genre-specific round. Each participant is alloted a piece of paper and is allowed to vote what the following fortnight's special round will be about - absolutely anything film related. The votes stay in a hat until that option is picked. Following these two rounds there will be a short intermission in order to mark the score sheets and take advantage of the fully licensed bar. Following this are the final two rounds, Post-Production, made up of exceptionally difficult questions and finally Promotion & Release, which returns to milder questions, adding the element of multiple choice to end the night on a high. Once the answers are tallied and marked the winners are announced, including prizes for the team with the best name. The event itself will take place in the spectacular Great Hall of Suckling House at Cinema City and patrons can treat themselves to food and drink from the bar throughout the evening - a menu of available bites can be found here - please note this is a .PDF document and you will need Adobe Reader in order to see it. A Word On The Trophy: As stated above, if you display a sickening amount of talent and win the quiz, you will find yourself responsible for the CCQ Trophy. This trophy started out as a humble coffee cup and has been transformed by previous winners. As a quiz winner, it will be your responsibility to further add to the ever elaborate decorations and return it the following fortnight. If you win three times in a row, the trophy is yours to keep and we will start a new trophy. As of 09-May-2010, the trophy victory run has changed from three in a row to two. In other words, win twice consecutively and the trophy is yours. Following each quiz session I will post the questions and answers on this page plus the names of the winning team and runners up. If you have any further questions regarding this regular event, please feel free to email me.
